Registered Veterinary Nurse Vacancy

Small Animal Vet

We offer Autonomy, recognition & appreciation!

We are a growing small animal practice based in Bournemouth that offers its employees:

  • Active involvement in the direction and development of the practice
  • Autonomy to make day-to-day decisions to improve systems, processes and client engagement.
  • Continuity of patient and client care
  • An alternative to the corporate ‘recipe’

Stokewood Vets may be small, but our hearts are large. We believe that pet care is more than just about caring. Truly caring for pets is more than just making sure they are fit and health. Caring is about being connected and strengthening the bond between the pet, its owner and you…its vet.

The Position
Due to an ever-expanding client base we are currently looking for another  vet with a positive attitude to join us, challenge us, learn with us, laugh with us and occasionally shed a tear with us. We have all the usual ‘toys’ and we are open to acquiring more as needed.

We are looking for an experienced qualified veterinary surgeon (5 years +), with solid surgical skills who is confident to be in sole charge to join our family run, small but beautiful practice. This is on a full or part-time basis, Monday to Friday with no out of hours or on call.

  • We offer a generous salary and  CPD allowance
  • Discounted Veterinary fees
  • Paid day off on your birthday
  • One to one counselling/coaching with an excellent third party service
  • RCVS , BVA and VDS fees included
  • Good work-life balance

Requirements:

  • 5 years + qualified
  • Solid Surgical skills
  • Experience of being in sole charge
  • Passionate about listening, caring and working collaboratively with clients and the team

There are great opportunities to develop your skills – we aim to keep as much work in-house as possible, but we also have wonderfully supportive local specialists for those more complex cases.
We believe that your work environment is hugely important for your job satisfaction and aim to create somewhere you can thrive and not just survive. To that end we are a caring, down-to-earth team who respect each other

Why Should You Apply?

  • We respect, appreciate and value our team member’s
  • We know the importance of having autonomy- some control over your everyday life
  • We are passionately independent, we manage our practice here, not in some remote head office
  • We believe Veterinary care is changing and that our role is to build the collaborative bond between our vets, our client’s and their pets. You can be an instrumental part in this journey.
  • Are you the missing piece to our growth plans? Let’s find out together!
